Lutherock is a Christian camp and conference center that offers summer camp for all ages, year-round programming and event space for conferences and retreats. Located in the high country of North Carolina there is plenty to explore on our 750+ acres or in area. We are conveniently located to Boone and Banner Elk which host some of the best skiing in the Southeast. Whether you wish to rock climb on site, challenge yourself on our sky park with zip lines or explore the Blue Ridge Parkway and the famous Lin Cove Viaduct there is plenty of fun to be had. Let us be your base camp for adventure.
For over 65 years we have provided spaces where all people can come experience Christ, community and nature in a new way! Our beautiful site allows guest to reconnect with Jesus, nature and challenge themselves through our onsite adventure activities. We are a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, rooted in the Christian faith, we welcome all to share in the experience of our community. Summer Camps – Every June and July we offer on-site resident camp for 3rd -12th graders which includes Lutheran confirmation camp; Additionally we offer an outdoor adventure element to most of our programs that combines the fun of on-site resident camp and on and off-site adventures such as whitewater rafting, ropes courses, rock climbing and much more.
Year-Round Programming – The rest of the year we offer a variety of staff led youth and adult programs for you to enjoy. From men’s and women’s retreats, youth weekends and family camps there are several opportunities for you, your friends or your church group to enjoy an all-inclusive time at camp.
Hosted Ministry (Conference Center)- We would love to host your next event, working conference, or retreat at Lutherock. Our staff can help you create a custom retreat that is right for you. Our services can include any combination of the following offerings: space rental, lodging, food service, group initiatives or team-building activities. If you are coming for a ski trip at nearby Sugar or Beech Mountains we can also assist in getting lift tickets or with equipment rentals.
Outdoor School-Located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. The 750+ acre property offers the perfect setting for environmental and adventure-based programming for school groups. The natural beauty of the property serves as the perfect backdrop to tailor visits based on your group’s educational, adventure, and team-building goals. Lutherock has partnered with nearby Grandfather Mountain to enhance our Outdoor School experience.
