Disaster Response

NovusWay is teaming up with LDR Carolinas for a partnership to support disaster recovery efforts. That means volunteer groups can stay at NovusWay camps and get plugged into meaningful work through LDR Carolinas. It’s a great way to combine comfort, community, and service—all in one place.

This program is for groups of high school youth (completed 8th grade) and adults looking for a mission trip opportunity to help restore and rebuild communities across Western North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene. The week will include housing and meals at either Lutheridge or Lutherock and staff members to guide you through the program. Adult leaders are responsible for their group throughout the week.

Groups will arrive at camp on Sunday afternoon and do some team building and learning about the disaster areas in which they are serving. Monday through Wednesday will be spent at sites in need of recovery work, in partnership with LDR Carolinas. All tools and supplies will be provided by LDR Carolinas. Each day will end back at camp with a time to debrief the day and worship together. On Thursday, groups can choose from a variety of Adventure Day options or plan their own adventure. The week ends with worship on Friday before departing.

Groups must have a 8:1 youth to adult ratio and will be housed in cabins or hotel-like accommodations.
